Assembly District 57 is my home, where I was raised by my mom and a village of people who encouraged me to excel and become a first-generation college graduate.

I’m running for Assembly so I can make a difference in the community I’ve always loved, and the Great State of California.

Dear Friends,

I’m running for California State Assembly in District 57, an open seat that includes my hometown of Whittier, CA. I’m a professor of politics and policy, but my prior work includes analyzing legislation for the CA State Senate, and working as a Field Deputy for a local Congresswoman, handling health issues and immigration-related problems for constituents.

I’m advocating for a green economy, strengthening environmental protections, and protecting the Whittier Hills. I want to strengthen unions, and make sure workers in California have good jobs with benefits. We need to increase affordable housing, reduce poverty, and keep the UC and CSU systems in financial reach for everyone.

If you know me, you know I’m a longtime advocate for at-risk youth, women’s rights, and sexual violence prevention. I’m a champion for economically disadvantaged families, and teach about structural inequality in my classes. I’m pursuing this opportunity so that I can advocate for groups who rarely have a seat at the table.

I would be honored to earn your support!
